There are provided a security maintenance method and a data accumulation device capable of performing security check of a notebook computer carried outside effectively. By executing a program read from the data accumulation device, it is judged whether to apply security maintenance data. The security maintenance data which has decided to execute the application is read in and applied to a predetermined program in a terminal.
