HUB DRIVE FOR SMALL VEHICLES

The hub drive comprises a direct current motor arranged inside the hub (N), comprising a gear mechanism (G) connecting a shaft (18) of the rotor (R) to the housing of the hub (9). A shaft (1) can be detachably fixed to a frame of the small vehicle. An electromagnetic brake (B) arranged in the hub acts upon the gear mechanism (G) via the shaft (18) of the rotor (R). The gear mechanism (G) is embodied in such a way that it is non-inhibiting and the brake (B) can be unlocked by hand or electronically. Preferably, the brake (B) is arranged on an outer end of the above-mentioned shaft (18).
