<p>A lock arrangement for a door (14) of a goods compartment access opening (12) has a bolt (32) for mounting on a frame member (19) of the compartment (11), the bolt (32) being provided with a pneumatic actuator for withdrawing the bolt from a keep (17) mounted on the door (14). An electrically-operated valve (51) is provided for the actuator and a control unit (50) provided within the housing serves to operate the valve. The control unit (50) receives a digital coded signal from a remote signal source (55) and only when the correct signal is received is the valve (51) operated to withdraw the bolt (32) from the keep (17) and so open the door (14). The remote signal source (55) may require the use of a mechanical, electrical or electronic key or smart card, or may be triggered wirelessly by a transmitter (57).</p>
