The device has an expansion tank (2) connected to a pressure sensor (6) such that the weight of the tank as well as the fluid in it affects the sensor, which is connected to a feedback control (8). The sensor indicates the functioning of expansion tank and thus the abrasion of diaphragm. When the measured value exceeds the threshold value a signal is sent and countermeasures are initiated.
