The system has a laser-active crystal (1) whose front and back sides are concave curved such that a thickness of a central disk section is smaller that a diameter of the central disk section so as to form a laminar cooling agent stream for cooling the crystal along the front and back sides. An intensifying laser beam and a pumping light beam (4) are coupled at the sides of the crystal. A pumping light coupling window with an anti-reflex coating for the light beam, is arranged at the back side of the crystal, where the back side has a highly reflective coating for the laser beam.
