The fence post has a flat conductor rail (2) fastened to it by screws (8). The screws have self-tapping threads which penetrate into the post. The shank of each screw passes through a large hole in the rail without contacting it. The top of the conductor rail is bent through 90 degrees to cover the top of the post. There is an insulating ring between the post and the rail and a similar ring between the rail and the head of the screw. The inside diameter of each ring is the same as the inside diameter of each hole in the rail. Eyes (13,15) and clips (24) on the flat conductor rail hold wires and conductive tapes (14).
