Scratches on the surface of the windscreen and the rear window of a vehicle interfere with the view of the driver in particular at night and under poor weather conditions. Damaged panes at a vehicle used in public transport can endanger the health and in an extreme case the lives of a substantial number of people. The new panes used as a windscreen or the rear window have to be covered with a protection foil from the start. For attaching the foil to a curved surface the foil is gently heated with a fan device.
