The planning method comprises the following steps: (A) spatial data or surface contour data relating to the patient's knee anatomy, especially at least part of the femur bone (2), patella (1) and/or tibia (4), are inputted into a planning station with a computer; (B) movement of the knee anatomy parts is drawn using a tracking or motion capturing process; (C) the anatomy and movement data are made available to the planning station; (D) movement of the individual parts relative to one another is displayed on a screen, preferably simultaneously; (E) a part of the knee anatomy is replaced by at least one virtual implant in the femur, tibia and/or patella in the planning station and knee movement with the implant(s) is simulated; (F) the degree of contact or intersection between the remaining knee bone parts and the implant or between the implants themselves during the simulated knee movement is measured; and (G) the position, shape and/or orientation of the implant(s) are modif! ied until the degree of contact and intersection is no longer critical. |
