Torque tool, especially wrench, and method of detecting loss of equilibrium during a tightening operation

The tool has a mechanical balance break detection unit with a measurement unit (121) providing a signal corresponding to measurement of torque applied to a fixation unit. An amplifier (201), an analog/digital double conversion device (203) and a microcontroller (205) electronically process the signal. A processing unit (215) permits to perform calculations on digital data obtained by electronic processing of the signal. An independent claim is also included for a process of detecting a break of a mechanical balance.
