Method and apparatus to control the emission power

The method involves determining an indication of quality relative to a traffic channel. A quantity relative to previous acknowledgement transmitted to the base station, is determined. A transmission power on the traffic channel and a control channel associated with the traffic channel is calculated for next time interval of transmission, from the quality indication and quantity relative to the acknowledgement. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a base station arranged for transmitting blocks to radio terminals (B) a computer program to be installed in the base station, comprising instructions for implementing a method for controlling transmission power.
