The float with the quick exchange mechanism (1) and a locking unit (2) is fitted with a shaft accommodating a helical spring and a wire with a ring extending from the lower end of the shaft. When the shaft is pulled back a gap in the ring is exposed and the fishing line can be easily inserted or removed. For locking the float in a permanent position a rubber disk is pushed against the float keeping the fishing line clamped in between both parts.
