SOLID ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR

A solid electrolytic capacitor (1) comprises a capacitor element (2) which is composed of an anode foil (4) and a cathode foil (5) wound with a separator (6) interposed therebetween and has a solid electrolyte layer or a conductive polymer layer formed inside. A coating film composed of a metal nitride or a non valve-acting metal is formed on the cathode foil (5). The width of the cathode foil (5) is narrower than that of the anode foil (4), and the anode foil (4) has generally the same width as the separator (6).
