In the event of fire the door (3) moves from a normal position to a height (H) pre-set by the position of a fire limit switch (14) and stays there. The door moves from its upper or lower end position or in a direction up or down pre-set by the fire limit switch until it reaches the switch. The door has a drive (4) and control device (7) with program memory for the drive's control program. The fire limit switch is positioned at a pre-set height between the lower and upper end positions of the door. It is connected to an extra control device (7a) and when activated sends a signal to the control device linking it to the fire signal transmitter (15), so that the signal of the fire limit switch only makes the door drive stop when a fire signal is transmitted.
