The body(2) of the synchromesh sleeve is manufactured by a non-cutting shaping process from sheet metal and is constructed in one piece. In its initial state the body of the sleeve consists of a sheet strip profiled on at least one side, and which is bent in circular fashion, and the cut edges of which are then brought together and joined. The body of the sleeve and selector fork guide may be made in one piece, or manufactured as separate parts and then fixed together.
