<p>A control ball valve 400 which may be used with an actuator in a subsea assembly, the ball valve including a body, at least one ball 435, 450 having a channel forming part of a flow path, a drive trunnion 445 to rotate the ball and a sealing seat 425, 440 with a sealing surface mating with a portion of the spherical outer surface of the ball. The sealing seat may be disposed within a carrier seat 420, 421 and forced into sealing engagement with the ball by a spring 415, the seats being sealed to one another and the body by O-rings (130, 131 figure 1B). A thrust bearing 446 may be provided between the drive trunnon and a ball carrier assembly 410, the drive trunnion being rotated by a solenoid 405, an ROV or a manual adapter. The valve may include two balls 435, 450 which may be connected to a common trunnion 490, the channel of the first ball being aligned with its flow path when the channel of the second ball is not aligned with its flow path and vice versa.</p> |
