The splice is protected by a sleeve (4) comprising a tube (5) extending around the splice body (3) and two seals (6, 7) in contact with the cables (1, 2) and the inside of the tube. - A cable splice for medium or high-voltage power cables comprises two or more insulated conductors connected to each other inside a splice body protected by an outer sleeve. This sleeve comprises a tube extending around the splice body with a first end on one side of the body and a second end on the other side. Two seals are located on opposite sides of the splice body and provide seal surfaces (8-11) in contact with the cables and the inside of the tube. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a cable splicing method in which a tube is fitted over a splice body and two seals located on either side of this body are placed in contact with the cable and the inside of the tube. |
