The brace has a blank with cuts and grooves defining a bottom. Two sets of walls are perpendicular to each other and placed on respective opposite sides of the bottom. The walls are folded around the bottom and fastening units are provided between the walls. A cut (7) separates the bottom into two parts and stops near outer edges of one set of walls and has a central section (7a) forming a slit in which flanks (9a, 9b) are guided. An independent claim is also included for a method of sectioning cases using a cross-brace.
