PURPOSE: Provided are a secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same to inhibit solvent decomposition and additional reaction by immersing nano-platinum powder as catalyst for inhibiting solvent-decomposition into electrode activating material. CONSTITUTION: The lithium secondary battery comprises negative electrode containing negative electrode activating material including carbon material; positive electrode containing positive electrode activating material; separator between both of the materials; and electrolyte. The battery has solvent decomposition material on at least one of the negative electrode activating material such as platinum powder and the electrolyte to inhibit decomposition of the electrolyte. |
