The machine has compartments (11) effectuating a complete rotation in one direction to transfer load of cloth in succeeding compartment, and effectuating a complete rotation in another direction to obtain a mechanical effect. Each compartment has a transfer structure with a deflector (41) preventing cloth from returning to the preceding compartment during the complete rotation in the latter direction.
