The invention relates to a reinforced surgical net meant for the reconstruction of the thoracal wall, to a process for making the same and the use thereof. According to the invention, the surgical net comprises a knitted textile carrier of rotoset filament polyester yarns with a length density of 76 dtex/f32, reinforced as a net of squares with the side length of 1 cm, with one or two monofilament polyester yarns, with a length density of at least 2000 dtex. The claimed process for making the surgical net consists in knitting the textile carrier, reinforcing the resulting knitted fabric by the longitudinal and transverse passing of one or two reinforcing yarns through the stitches of the knitted fabric, and then ultrasound spot sealing, finishing and sterilizing the resulting net. The reinforced surgical net for the reconstruction of the thoracal wall is used by placing it over a grid which fixes the ribs in the desired position, the grid being obtained by passing two or three slowly resorbable or non resorbable threads under the integral rib from the upper and lower pole of the parietal deformity, the reinforced net being fixed by passing two polyamide or polyglycolide yarns, in the shape of a vertical U or a horizontal U, to the adjacent tissues, in the intercostal and/or pericostal space, and cutting-off the hard yarns, in the vicinity of the ultrasound sealed stitches, and the final course of large stitches.
|
