The sealing unit has a stud (JP1), an external cylindrical part (JC1) connected to larger diameter of the stud, and a lip (JL1) connected to smaller diameter of the stud. A free end of the lip is, at rest, in contact with a peripheral wall of a piston. The lip is made of flexible material such as flexible rubber, and the stud is made of material such as hard rubber, which is difficult to deform. An independent claim is also included for a master brake cylinder.
