Methods and apparatus for obtaining and displaying availability information

A method of obtaining and displaying availability information to users of a reservation system is disclosed. The user enters a query specifying one or more dates and the resource for which availability is requested. The information is retrieved from a server and information on the availability of the resource on the selected dates is displayed graphically on screen in a calendar format. The query is entered into the system using a standard or modified Global Distribution System syntax.
