Human monoclonal antibodies to FC alpha receptor (CD89)

A monoclonal antibody that binds to human CD89 (FCAR) comprises a human heavy chain region comprising CDR1, CDR2 and CDR3 sequences and human light chain variable region comprising CDR1, CDR2 and CDr3 sequences. Preferably the heavy chain comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 or 6 or is derived from a human germline 3-30.3VH gene and the light chain variable region comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:4 or 8 or is derived from a human germline VK L18 or VK A27 gene. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the antibodies are useful for inhibiting cell growth for treating cancer and for treating or preventing disease characterized by precipitation of IGA-immune complexes such as chronic hepatitis, Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP), Berger's disease and IgA-glomerulonephritis. Also disclosed are methods of producing the antibodies, bispecific and multispecific molecules, molecular conjugate.
