The device has a screw (6), and a pivot connection (8) between extension bar (1) and a balance weight (9). A swiveling point (11) allows articulation of the bar relative to a frame, and is guided in translation to accompany the translation associated to feed and/or screwing movement. Centre of gravity of a mobile assembly (1, 6, 8, 9, 11) is near the point (11) to ensure indifferent static balancing of the assembly around the point.
