Diaryl cycloalkyl derivatives of formula (I), their physiologically compatible salts and physiologically functional derivatives, and a method for producing these derivatives is disclosed, wherein the variables are as defined in the specification. These compounds have lipid and/or triglyceride reducing properties and are suitable for treating lipid metabolic disorders, type II diabetes and syndrome X.
