Use of 1-phenyl-3-dimethylaminopropane compounds of formula (I) for producing a medicament for treating the frequent urge to pass water or urinary incontinence is disclosed, wherein the substituents for the variables shown in formula (I) are as defined in the specification. Corresponding medicaments that are suitable for treating the frequent urge to pass water or urinary incontinence are also described.
