PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering gear on which a driver can operate an operating element without sensing following delay of a steered wheel. SOLUTION: This steering gear on which a steering wheel operated by the driver and a steered wheel are not mechanically connected to each other has a target steered angle setting part to decide target steered angle of the wheel in accordance with the amount of operation of the steering wheel, a steered angle sensor to measure actual steered angle of the wheel, a steering monitor to steer the wheel in accordance with the deviation between the target steered angle and the actual steered angle, a target steering reaction setting part to decide steering reaction to give to the steering wheel and a steering reaction giving motor to give this steering reaction, and it raises an increasing rate of the steering reaction in the case when the actual steered angle approaches the maximum steered angle.
