PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "map display device" that makes it possible to intuitively grasp the distance to a direction-displayed spot. SOLUTION: When a map scroll mode is entered, a scroll button 32 and a cursor 31 are displayed on a map image displayed at a display part. Then the scroll button 32 is displayed at an edge of the screen and the distance between a direction display and the distance from the point of the cursor to the direction-displayed spot are displayed nearby the scroll button 32.
