PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device, having a structure in which sufficient light-shielding properties are compatible with sufficient storage capacitance, without reducing the numerical aperture. SOLUTION: The light-emitting device comprises a TFT formed on a substrate, wiring connected to a semiconductor layer having the TFT, a first insulating film formed on the wiring, a window formed so as to reach the substrate, a light-shielding film formed on the first insulating film, a second insulating film formed on the bottoms of the light-shielding film and the window, an anode formed on the second insulating film and connected to the wire, a film formed on the anode and containing an organic compound, and a cathode formed on the film containing the organic compound.
