PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective tube and boot for optical fiber capable of retaining an optical fiber in the bend radius exceeding a prescribed bend limit irrespective of tension of the optical fiber. SOLUTION: Grooves 11 extending in the peripheral direction on the outer periphery of a cylindrical hard layer 9 surrounding the optical fiber 3 are formed so as to be plurally overlapped and a soft layer 10 is laminated on the hard layer 9.
