PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circulating fluidized bed furnace capable of preventing the scattering of fluid medium from a cyclone, smoothly circulating the fluid medium and performing stable combustion treatment. SOLUTION: In this circulating fluidized bed furnace 10 comprising a riser 11, the cyclone 16, a downcomer 18, a seal pot 19 and a fluid medium returning pipe 20, the seal pot 19 is composed of a space communicating an inflow chamber 19a and an outflow chamber 19b of the fluid medium in a state of introducing fluidized gases 33a, 33b from a lower part of the space, a means for controlling the fluidized gases to achieve a void tower speed of the outflow chamber 19b higher than that of the inflow chamber 19a, a lower limit of a connection height position of the return pipe 20 and the riser 11 is determined to be about 1 times of a static layer height of the fluid medium, and an upper limit of the connection height position is determined at a secondary air introduction port of the riser.
