PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing capable of achieving high speed, long service life, and a maintenance-free condition using only grease sealed into the bearing. SOLUTION: This rolling bearing having an inner ring 1, an outer ring 2, and a plurality of rolling bodies 3 provided between raceway surfaces 1a and 2a of these inner and outer rings 1, 2 is provided with a grease sump forming part 6 and a clearance forming piece 7. The grease sump forming part 6 forms a grease sump 8 inside it and is provided in contact with the outer ring 2. The clearance forming piece 7 is a member communicating from the grease sump 8 to the vicinity of the raceway surface 2a of the outer ring and forming a clearance 14 along an inside diameter face 2b of the outer ring. Gap amount of the clearance 14 is such size that supplies basic oil of grease in the grease sump 8 to the vicinity of the raceway surface 2a of the outer ring by capillary phenomenon of thickener. Projections whose tips come into contact with a peripheral face of the outer ring 2 opposing to the clearance forming piece 7 are provided in a plurality of sections in the circumferential direction of the clearance forming piece 7.
