PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical roller bearing for a machine tool which improves the capability for discharging lubricant from the inside of a bearing and the structure for positively supplying lubricant such as lubricating oil even to a contact part of a roller side surface and a flange on an opposite side to a side in which a lubricant supply mechanism such as a feeding mechanism is arranged so as to achieve a stable high-speed rotation of a main shaft by suppressing the occurrence of frictional heat with flanges of a roller and a bearing ring. SOLUTION: The cylindrical roller bearing 100 for a machine tool is equipped with an outer ring 21 having an inside peripheral surface on which an outer ring raceway surface 21a is formed, an inner ring 23 provided with an outside peripheral surface on which an inner ring raceway surface 23a is formed and with a flange 23b to the side of the inner ring raceway surface 23a, a plurality of rollers 25 provided between the outer ring raceway surface 21a and the inner ring raceway surface 23a so as to be free to rotate circumferentially, and a holder 27 for freely rotatably holding the roller 25. A diameter of an axial midsection of the inner ring raceway surface 23a is made shorter than that of an end of the inner ring raceway surface 23a axially aligned with the axial midsection.
