PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device, of simple constitution, in which curl formed in paper can be securely corrected, and in which high universality is achieved. SOLUTION: In feeding paper P having upward curl by use of a manual insertion tray 1, the paper P is held by a nip part of a feed roller 2 with a separating roller 3 at a front part, projected by a paper projecting part 9 backward of it, and pressed by a paper pressing part 8 further backward of it. As the paper P is carried, downward curl generating force is added to a part passing an uncurling mechanism comprising the paper projecting part 9 and the paper pressing part 8. The paper P passes the uncurling mechanism from a forward end to a rear end before it is fed to an image forming device. Downward curl generating force is thus added to the paper P along the whole length of it, thereby upward curl generated in the paper P is corrected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
