PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box-shaped unit mounting structure, and an installation method of the box-shaped unit mounting structure, capable of improving flexibility in setting of shaping by increasing flexibility of a mounting position of the box-shaped unit, and having good installation and maintenance property. SOLUTION: An upper arm member 15 is divided into a first bracket member 16 integrally provided on a steering member 12, and a second bracket member 17 attached with audio instrument 6. An upper mounting seat surface portion 16h on which a mounting upper flange portion 17a of the second bracket member 17 abuts from a vehicular rear side through a mounting surface portion 10b of an instrument panel 10 and fastened together by a bolt member 20 is provided. In a cluster opening portion 10a formed to open at a generally center in a vehicular width direction of the instrument panel 10, the upper mounting seat surface portion 16h and a side mounting seat surface portion 14b are positioned.
