PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform laser welding without leaving a clearance between flanges. SOLUTION: A pair of container members 2, 4 with flanges 6, 8 along their edges are formed by working on a metal plate. Both of the flanges 6, 8 of the pair of container members 2, 4 are superimposed, and the flanges 6, 8 are bent and caulked mutually. Then, the laser welding is performed along the shapes of the flanges 6, 8, thereby forming a fuel tank 1. One of the flanges 6, 8 of the pair of container members 2, 4 is bent and caulked in the backside of the other flange 8, and then the laser welding is performed along the shapes of the flanges 6, 8. The caulked place where one flange 6 is bent and caulked in the backside of the other flange 8 is subjected to lap welding by the laser welding.
