[PROBLEMS] A compressor using sliding bearings as the bearings for a drive shaft achieves excellent lubrication in the bearing portions. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A compressor having a housing defining a crank chamber (4), a drive shaft (7) rotatably supported at the housing via sliding bearings (12, 15), a power transmission mechanism provided in the crank chamber (4) and rotating synchronously with the rotation of the drive shaft (7), a piston (17) reciprocatingly sliding, with the rotation of the power transmission mechanism, in a cylinder bore (16) formed in the housing, and a suction chamber (25) and a discharge chamber (26) that are selectively communicated with the cylinder bore (16) by the reciprocating sliding of the piston (17). The compressor further has an oil separation mechanism (31) provided in a discharge region (36) which includes the discharge chamber (26) and separating oil and has an oil path (40) formed inside the drive shaft (7). The oil separated by the oil separation mechanism (31) and maintained at a pressure higher than the pressure in the crank chamber (4) is supplied between the sliding bearings (12, 15) and the drive shaft (7) through the oil path (40) in the drive shaft (7).
