<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal detecting device and method for highly precisely detecting a signal in an image. <P>SOLUTION: In this signal detecting device 1, a color image inputting part 11 inputs a color image to be inputted from a camera 2, and a color extracting part 12 extracts red, blue and yellow parts, and a circularity deriving part 13 derives the circularity of the respective color parts, and a signal light candidate detecting part 14 extracts signal light candidates from those colors and circularity, and a correspondence retrieving part 15 operates correspondence retrieval between the previous frame and the current frame, and outputs signal light candidate states to a signal light candidate state time-sequential change deriving part 17, and the signal light candidate state time-sequential change deriving part 17 compares the signal light candidates of the current frame to be outputted from the correspondence retrieving part 15 with the signal light candidates of the previous frame, and judges whether or not the signal light candidate states represent cyclic flashing, and detects the signal based on the judgement result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
