<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust-reduced active carbon which is suitable for air cleaning and water purification by reducing the generation of fine powder (dust) due to friction of active carbon itself seen in the conventional active carbon, to make a running-in operation and the like omittable in the initial stage of the operation of treatment equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The dust-reduced active carbon is manufactured by dispersing an organic resin emulsion containing any of a polyacrylonitrile, a polyvinyl acetate, and a polytetrafluoroethylene, corresponding to 0.01-2 wt.% of an active carbon, in water, and impregnating the surface of the active carbon, of which the average particle size is 0.5 mm or larger, with a coating agent containing the organic resin by mixing and stirring this dispersing liquid and the active carbon. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
