<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize individual identification by a humanbeing by performing face authentication for authenticating a person using a face look, a biological feature, and using data for authentication, achieving simple and low-cost system configuration, high processing speed in authentication, low reluctant feeling in a customer, high restraint effect to illegality, and high evidence value against an illegal action. <P>SOLUTION: An individual identification system includes a window terminal disposed at a window of a financial institution, having a camera 13 for acquiring a face image of the customer, and a face authentication server 21 connected to the window terminal, having a face database 21a for storing a registered face data of the customer. The above window terminal performs face authentication using the face data based on the customer face image acquired by the camera 13 and the registered customer face data.
