PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium drive apparatus in which occurrence of distortion of a base and a cover can be prevented surely at the time of coupling of the base and the cover. SOLUTION: A recording medium drive apparatus 11 is provided with a base 13 and a cover 15 put on a receiving surface 22 of the base 13. The cover 15 is coupled to the receiving plane 22 based on an coupling mechanism 16. A elastic member 39 is held between the receiving surface 22 and the cover 15. The elastic member 39 is arranged along an occupancy space 43 of the coupling mechanism 16. The elastic member 39 encloses the occupancy space 43 without intermission. In such the recording medium drive apparatus 11, at the time of coupling the base 14 and the cover 15, the coupling mechanism 16 presses the cover 15 toward the receiving plane 22. As the elastic member 39 encloses the occupancy space 43 without intermission, the elastic member 39 is deformed elastically and uniformly.
