PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structural member which is lighter in weight, excellent in shock absorbing characteristics and rich in versatility or practicability. SOLUTION: A structural member receives a bending load in at least one part in a longitudinal direction. The part is equipped with a plane opposed to the bending load and a side surface forming corner parts on both sides of the plane (a). The end surface at an end in a longitudinal direction is equipped with a protrusively curved contour opposed to the bending load direction (b). The member surface between the part and the end surface of the end in the longitudinal direction is formed by a bent surface continuous with the plane and the side surface of the part (c).
