PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine with a cylinder oil filling device for filling oil at a required filling timing and in a required filling amount independently in oil filling valves or oil filling positions while stabilizing cylinder oil filling operation in all operaiton ranges of the engine by quickly and accurately detecting the malfunction of oil filling through the oil filling valves and effectively coping therewith. SOLUTION: In the internal combustion engine with the cylinder oil filling device, lubricating oil in a common oil feeder is filled through the plurality of oil filling valves mounted on the cylinder of the engine to the inner face of the cylinder. The engine comprises a plurality of solenoid on-off valves for opening/closing oil filling passages to the plurality of oil filling valves, an oil filling pressure detector for detecting oil filling pressure on the cylinder, and a control device for controlling timings for opening and closing the solenoid on-off valves corresponding to an engine load or speed, comparing a detected value for oil filling pressure input from the oil filling pressure detector with an allowable value for the oil filling pressure and determining the malfunction of the oil filling when the detected value for the oil filling pressure is outside the range of the allowable value.
