The invention relates to an electrical floor-cleaning apparatus, particularly a vacuum cleaner, comprising a housing that is provided with a receiving chamber into which a power supply module can be inserted, said power supply module being equipped with holding means for fixing the power supply module within the receiving chamber. In order to create a floor-cleaning apparatus that can be fitted or retrofitted in a simple fashion to be mains-operated or operated off the line, the receiving chamber is provided with an opposite holding means that is adapted to the holding means and is embodied so as to selectively fix a power supply module or a cable drum module. The invention allows previously available vacuum cleaners that are originally designed to be mains-operated to be produced as battery-powered variants without having to make any changes or by making only minor changes to the existing housing parts of the vacuum cleaner, for example.
