The method involves transferring data from a non-volatile memory cell array into page buffers. The data is concurrently transferred from a pair of buffers to a host, and another data is transferred from the page buffers into another pair of buffers. Third data is transferred from the non-volatile memory cell array into the page buffers. The transfer between the array and the page buffers occurs in page increments. An independent claim is also included for a semiconductor device, comprising a controller.
