INKJET PRINTING METHOD AND SYSTEM WHICH BRING ABOUT IMPROVED IMAGE DURABILITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image with improved image durability e.g. smudge resistance and a method and a system for forming this image.

SOLUTION: The printing system for an inkjet image with durability includes a first printing head storing a fixing agent composition which contains an electrically charged fixing agent component, and the first printing head prints the fixing agent composition on a base material in an inkjet fashion. In addition, the system includes a second printing head which stores an inkjet ink containing a colorant having an inverse electrical charge to the electrically charged fixing agent component. The second printing head prints an inkjet ink composition on the fixing agent composition in an inkjet mode. Further, a third printing head which stores a polymer overcoat composition including a polymer with an inverse electrical charge to the electrically charged fixing agent component, can be added to the system. This third printing head prints the polymer overcoat composition on the inkjet ink composition in an inkjet mode.
