<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the curling of a recording medium to which a liquid composition is applied while securing discharge stability, with regard to the liquid composition used for printing in the recording medium jointly using the liquid composition and ink, a set of the liquid composition and the ink and an inkjet recording device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid composition is used for this image recording method comprising a process to supply ink containing a coloring material in the recording medium in such a state that the coloring material is dissolved and dispersed and a process to supply the liquid composition for making unstable the dissolution or dispersion state of the coloring material in the ink by bringing the recording medium into contact with the recording medium. The liquid composition contains at least a polyvalent metallic ion, water and water-soluble organic compounds 1 and 2. The content X(%)of the water-soluble organic compound 1 in the liquid composition is not lower than 15 mass%. Besides, the liquid composition has the content X(%) of the water-soluble organic compound 1 in the liquid composition and the content Y(%) of the water-soluble organic compound 2 in the liquid composition which satisfies a specified relationship.
