PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an electrode for a solid polymer type fuel cell having high proton conductivity; and to provide a solid polymer type fuel cell equipped with an electrode manufactured by the method.

SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of an electrode for a solid polymer type fuel cell is characterized by that the electrode is subjected to application of a mixture of catalyst carrier carbon particles having a positive ion-exchange resin and a positive ion-exchange resin solution and thereafter to drying. When the weight of the carbon particles in the catalyst carrier carbon particles having the positive ion-exchange resin and the total of the quantity of the positive ion-exchange resin in the catalyst carrier carbon particles having the positive ion-exchange resin and the quantity of the positive ion-exchange resin in the positive ion-exchange resin solution are assumed to be A and B, the relationship between A and B satisfies 0.05A≤B≤4.00A.
