<p>Process for manufacturing a laminate includes the application of a layer of polyamide to a substrate. The polyamide used is mainly branched polyamide that is at least composed of units derived from AB monomers that a) have both a carboxylic acid group and an amine group; b) at least one compound I, being a carboxylic acid (Av) with functionality v>=2 or an amine (Bw) with functionality w>=2; c) at least one compound II, being a carboxylic acid (Av) with functionality v>=3 or an amine (Bw) with functionality w>=3, with compound II being a carboxylic acid if compound I is an amine, or with compound II being an amine if compound I is a carboxylic acid. The substrate may be (metallized) paper or paperboard so that a laminate is formed which is very suitable for manufacturing packaging for foodstuffs.</p> |
