PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner having excellent mechanical stability, charging characteristics, transfer characteristics and fixing characteristics of toner particles as well as sufficiently developing the characteristics of a resin, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the toner. SOLUTION: The toner is a spheric toner showing an inflection point in a load-displacement curve obtained by a micro compression test on the toner particles. In the micro compression test, displacement of toner particles in the compressing direction drastically increases with a minute increment in the load, that is, the sample toner particles fracture by pressure. Further, the load-displacement curve obtained by the micro compression test includes a region where the incrementΔdμm of the displacement of the sample toner particles and the changeΔP mN in the test force (increment of load) applied on the sample toner particles satisfy the relation ofΔd/ΔP≥3.5.
